April 14th -- Mixed Bag Card Class

What happens when I sit down to design without a cohesive plan in my head?

The class on April 14th!

We all need a good selection of cards anyway so this works.  The April 14th class will cover the "thinking of you," "get well," "birthday," and "thank you" categories.  It will be held in Camarillo on April 14th at 2 pm.  If you'd like to attend, please let me know by April 7th so I can have all the necessary materials prepared.  The class materials fee will be $10 and you can purchase materials to your heart's content.  :>)

This "thinking of you card" is just the thing to brighten someone's day.  I used the "Cloudy Day" embossing folder, "Rain or Shine" stamp set, and "Sunshine and Sprinkles" Designer Series Paper. This one is a bit of work but well worth it.

This simple card expresses a simple wish for someone's wellbeing.  I used the stamp sets, "Serene SIlhouettes," and "So Sorry," to do so.

This bright birthday card uses the new Honeycomb embossing folder and our some of our polka dot Designer Series Paper with a stamp set you can earn when you host your own party.  Ask me about that!

I was looking for an idea for a more masculine "thank you" card and came up with this.  I think the colors, simplicity, and strong lines make it work.  Tell me what you think.  It uses the Designer Series Paper, "Parker's Patterns" and a bit of "Early Espresso Baker's Twine" to round it out.

Please let me know by April 7th if you'd like to attend and I'd certainly welcome any comments.

Thanks!

Marcia

Card Buffet on Friday March 22nd

Hi Gang!

My next Card Buffet is scheduled for Friday, March 22, 2013, in Oxnard.  Come any time between 7 pm and Midnight to make up the cards you like from what I've provided. This time will be a bit of a mixed bag, as will my next class on April 14th.  If you're new to my Card Buffets, this is how it works:

Come between 7 and Midnight.

Make as many cards as you'd like from the provided projects.

Hang out and enjoy the company or just make and run.

Pay based on whether you brought your own double sided tape (SNAIL).  If you would like to purchase a SNAIL from me, you may do so for $7.00.

Standard cards are $1.50 if you bring yours or $2.00 if you use mine.
Notecards are $1.00 if you bring yours or $1.50 if you use mine.
The 3D project (carrot) with jelly beans is $1.50 either way.

Please RSVP so I'm aware you plan to come and can set up accordingly. The number is 479-8385.

Here are the designs which will be available:

Colored with Stampin' Up! Markers and made with the adorable single stamp, "Ears to You," and our Basic Rhinestones, this simple card could brighten up someone's Spring.

Make your choice of these notecards for only a dollar apiece.  I used "Distressed Dots" as my background and an extremely versatile set called, "A Little Bit of Spring".

Choose from the 4 notecards below.

Nothing says "Spring" to me like butterflies and the fresh green you only see at that time of year.  I like the way this card came out with the new, "Swallowtail" stamp.  I stole this idea directly out of the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog and really like the effect of the "Pool Party embossing powder".  If you follow the link for the Swallowtail stamp you'll find that, like many of the Stampn' Up! images, you can purchase the image in three different formats:  acryic mount rubber stamp, wood mount rubber stamp, and digital download to go with our wonderful digital papercrafting program, "My Digial Studio".  You can even try out the program for 30 days with our free trial.

This one is fun for a birthday.  The "Henry Says" stamp set is versatile enough to serve for birthdays, Valentine's Day, New Year's, Christmas, Congratulations, etc.  Henry the Elephant is an All-Year- Round kind of guy.

I had a few  of our self-adhesive googlie eyes left over from Halloween and thought they'd be fun with this single stamp, "Spec-tacular".  I added a bit of Tempting Turquoise as an accent color and blinged it up a litttle with a "Brights Glimmer Brad".

This birthday card uses the "All Dressed Up" stamp set and the "Dress UP" framelit dies to go with the Big SHot die-cutting machine.

I modified an idea I got from fellow demonstrator, Jeanne Kooker, to make this cute little "sour cream container" carrot.  We'll fill ours with jelly beans to make a special treat for a special someone in your life.  It even comes with the tag already.

I featured this card in my last class.  Are you brave enough to try it?  :>)  It uses the Designer Builder Brad with two papers from our "Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Pack".  Add a little cutting with the Big Shot die cutting and embossing machine and some "Victoria" crocheted ribbon for an elegant card.  I used the "Feel Goods" stamp set which offers this sentiment and 4 others you could choose from.

I hope you can come out and play on Friday, March 22nd.  Let me know!

Thanks,

Marcia
